It's Mother's Day.   I woke up to my littlest munchkin telling me I needed to snuggle with her forever.  Ryon made me breakfast and I got Mother's Day cards.   My son woke up and the first thing he said was he was hungry and he could hear us making breakfast from the other room.  After about 30 minutes of idle chat, I had to remind him to call his Step-Mom and wish her a Happy Mother's Day.  I hadn't even received a Happy Mother's Day from him at this point.  So he went in to his room and called his Step-Mom and then his Mimi and then his Dad.   Joey then came in to the kitchen to eat.  I wrapped my arms around him and said "It's ok hun.  You don't have to tell me Happy Mother's Day.  I get you everyday."  He then responded with "Sorry I forgot to tell you."  

I am, that mom.   I grew up with 2 sets of parents.  It was not always very pleasant.  They fought often and even to this day I hear backlash.  I must say that I am grateful for it.   I am grateful because I know now what not to do to my son.   Sara is my son's step-mom.   We have had a quarrels.  My son is the only child that she has.  She has a family that has welcomed him in to their homes as their very own.   Since we live states apart, they only get Joey part-time.  We care co-parenting and when Joey is older and has a family of his own we will be co-grandparenting lol.   Whether he is reminded to call me or tell me Happy Mother's Day, I will always remind him to call Sara and his dad.   

So, Happy Mother's Day Sara.   I hope you have an amazing day.  I hope that we get many more years to co-parent.   Thank you for caring for our son when you have him.  Thank you for having a family that loves Joey like we do.   

Also, Happy Mother's Day to my Mommy.   We miss you so much and love you so much!  Thank you for all that you do for us.   Thank you for being the best Omma.   Scarlette says that she is very sad with you not here.   She is excited to see you.    I hope that you have a safe trip home.  Joey says that he loves and misses you too.   Thank you for helping me raise him.   He is growing up to be pretty incredible.
